Music speaks to everyone no matter where you are from, or what language you speak. 

Here, we are introducing you to the international music festivals and events in Mongolia.

Playtime music festival

PLAYTIME 2022 will take place for three days on the summer weekend of July, every year, before the Naadam holiday featuring the best of new and established international and Mongolian bands and artists. It is the biggest yearly live music festival in Mongolia held at Hotel Mongolia in Gachuurt town found 30km outside of Ulaanbaatar. It was established in 2002 and is organized as a non-profit live music festival. Festival avenue has various stages and has a wide variety of music all day counting indie, rock, people, metal, jazz, electronic, and hip hop music. The Festival has three stages in total: The main stage, New Wave, and Naglikhaats, an electronic music stage. There are designated tent areas for festival-goers to camp, different types of food courts, and V.I.P especially for the artists and more.

Hunnu Music festival

Electronic, hip hop, and dance music “Hunnu Music Festival” has been held annually since 2014 in the Chinggis Khaan statue complex. This music festival will give an opportunity for electronic music lovers to spend their free time in the fresh air amid the summer in an eco-friendly way. So if you want to dance all night enjoying the music and make friends in Mongolia, the Hunnu Music Festival is one of the best opportunities. 

XMF Music festival

XMF – Khuur music festival is one of the biggest Mongolian international music festivals. Festival held in August at the National Sports Stadium, Ulaanbaatar every year. XMF aims to bring out the new hidden talent on the stage and also brings in a wide range of international teams and artists to their festival. Each year the XMF festival is expanding, in 2019 there was an attendance reached 45000.
