Wondering what to do in Mongolian winter?

Mongolia has a lot to offer during the winter despite its coldness. Recently dog sledding is getting popular in Mongolia due to many people introducing a couple of packs of huskies into the country. Mongolian winter makes dog sledding more fun and adventurous. Imagine yourself running on crystal-clear frozen lakes with your beloved buddies.

If you never tried dog sledding elsewhere and if you are in Mongolia it’s the perfect opportunity to try it out. The cost of dog sledding in Mongolia is relatively cheaper than in any other country, per day it’s about 100USD per adult. Dogs are well-trained and adapted well to the Mongolian climate.

Most of the dog sledding companies are located at Terelj National Park due to its convenience of snowfall and frozen rivers during the winter. You will be mesmerized by the beauty of the park and at the same time extraordinary experience dog sledding in Mongolia’s frozen rivers. Dog sledding season usually starts in December in Mongolia.

The length of the dog sledding varies depending on your interest. It could be a couple of minutes to a couple of days if you are experienced and physically capable. Average sled dogs could run 10 to 14 miles per hour in short distances. Dog sledding is a very safe activity as long as you follow the instructions.

We offer a mixed tour of dog sledding and a nomad stay tour for those who want to explore and experience more about Mongolia in a short time. You travel between nomads ger to nomads ger by dog sledding and when you arrive at your destination you will live with nomads and help with their day-to-day tasks. Basically, you will be part of the family member and allocated to certain tasks of the nomad’s day-to-day life.
