Even though Mongolia is an extremely beautiful, amazingly safe, mind-blowing interesting country we are one of the least-known countries in the world. In 2023 Mongolia attracted only 640,000 international tourists. On the other hand countries with similar backgrounds and natural beauties are having 5 times more travelers than Mongolia. For instance, Kyrgyzstan has lots of similarities with Mongolia, including nomadic culture, eagle hunting, tall apexes, etc and Kyrgyzstan has more than 3 million tourists each year.

Can you tell where it is either Mongolia or Kyrgyzstan? I assume as long you are not from nomadic roots it would be difficult to tell. Green prairie snowy peaks and yurts are pretty much identical.  The only difference can be the shape of yurts, topside poles of the Kyrgyz yurt is longer and taller.

The image on the left is Mongolia. As you can see it is pretty much similar in every way. There are tons of reasons despite the fact that in terms of natural beauty both countries are equally beautiful but one has 6 times more tourists arrival in every year.

In this article, we are not making a comparison thus I will discuss focusing on Mongolia from here. As you might already know Mongolia has been named the best travel destination by the world’s most popular travel magazine Lonely Planet.  Read more about Lonely Planets article by clicking here

Mongolia offers pieces of everything for everyone from blazing deserts to snowy high mountain peaks, from Taiga forests to deep blue ocean-like lakes, from endless emerald steppe to eternal blue horizons, from Urban civilizations to Nomadic journyes.
