After your arrival in Mongolia, you will realize that Mongolians do ride both. In Ulaanbaatar the capital city of Mongolia, wherever you go you’ll see a lot of Toyota Priuses due to their low fuel usage. On the other hand, when you are out of Ulaanbaatar you will see a herd of horses roaming everywhere.

How to explore rural Mongolia?

Since you’re making plans to travel to Mongolia, now you must be wondering if it’s better to self-organize everything or go with a tour operator who can speak your language at least.

Organizing and traveling on your own means you’ll be fully responsible for securing your own accommodations and transportation and of course communication as well. Also, you will need to navigate yourself around to look for food and drink. Plus, the language barrier may become a problem. While traveling you will need to rely solely on what you have researched about Mongolia to get you from one side to the next while looking for internet and travel apps you can enjoy yourself in Ulaanbaatar and more urban places, but once you leave the city there is only vast land without any electricity or internet connection. So, that’s where the problems would start.

But, if you choose to travel with a local tour operator company, here is what you can expect from your trip.
