Tour itinerary

Upon your arrival at Chinggis Khaan international airport, the driver and guide will pick you up and drop you off at the hotel.

After breakfast meet your guide and driver at the hotel lobby. Set off to the Gobi desert which is the first destination of your trip. You drive half-day until you reach the Gobi, have lunch on the way at local restaurant. Upon arrival at your hotel at Dalanzadgad, the capital of Umnugobi province drop off your luggage and depart to “Yoliin am” or “Bearded vulture gorge” which is famous for its green vegetation, stream, and glacier in the midst of the Gobi desert. Gorge will take about 2 to 3 hours of hiking there are optional horse riding services near a park.

After breakfast depart to Khongoryn els sand dune which is the biggest sand dune in Mongolia. It will be another 30 to 1-hour hiking until the top of the dune. The best time to hike to the dune would be during the sunset or sunrise. Make sure you are prepared well for strong sun and hiking. Optional camel riding along the dune.

Last but not least destination of the Gobi desert the Bayanzag or known as Flaming cliffs due to its magical blazing colors during the sunset. Bayanzag is believed to be the ancient seabed and home to various types of dinosaurs. A team led by Roy Chapman Andrews the American explorer (1884−1960) found the first dinosaur eggs known to science, in the year 1923 from the Mongolian Gobi desert.

Today you will drive to Dalanzadgad to take a flight to Ulaanbaatar for about 1 hour. You will explore the Ulaanbaatar such as the central square, national museums, and traditional concerts at the Tumen Ekh ensemble.

Early morning you will take a flight to Bayan Ulgii province and its capital Ulgii city for about 3 hours. Upon your arrival at Ulgii city, you will drive to the Altai mountains about 4 hours driving.

Enjoy full-day activities at Altai mountains and its beauty. Highlights of the day would be a white river, peaks of Altai mountains and hiking, and horseriding.

In the morning you will depart to Tsenkher soum near the Ulgii city where you would meet the eagle hunter and get to know their lifestyle. You will witness eagle hunting in the mountains with your own eyes. Enjoy the barbecue dinner with the eagle hunter family.

1.Travelers are required to have proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 either, recovery or a negative COVID-19 test certification or any kind of valid documents. Children aged 6-17 must present. 

  • Proof of vaccination status (for children who are eligible); or
  • Proof of a negative COVID-19 test (PCR or lateral flow) conducted no more than 72 hours before your tour; or
  • Proof of recovery from COVID-19 (a medical clearance certificate from a medical professional) dated no more than 9 months before your tour.  

3. Upon your arrival in Ulaanbaatar, our driver will pick you up from the airport or train station and take you to your hotel. On this day depending on your arrival time city tour is available. And the last day of your tour our driver will take you to the airport, and a city tour is not included.

4. A single supplement is available if you want to use a room just for yourself. If you want a single supplement please make an inquiry with our booking manager. The single supplement is 70$ per night.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Zürich, Switzerland

We’ll meet at 4 p.m. at our hotel in Luzern (Lucerne) for a “Welcome to Switzerland” meeting. Then we’ll take a meandering evening walk through Switzerland’s most charming lakeside town, and get acquainted with one another over dinner together. Sleep in Luzern (2 nights). No bus. Walking: light.

Day 2Zürich–Biel/Bienne–Neuchâtel–Geneva

Enjoy an orientation walk of Zurich’s OLD TOWN, Switzerland’s center of banking and commerce. Then, leave Zurich and start your Swiss adventure. You’ll quickly discover that Switzerland isn’t just home to the Alps, but also to some of the most beautiful lakes. First, stop at the foot of the Jura Mountains in the picturesque town of Biel, known as Bienne by French-speaking Swiss, famous for watch-making, and explore the historical center. Next, enjoy a scenic drive to lakeside Neuchâtel, dominated by the medieval cathedral and castle. Time to stroll along the lake promenade before continuing to stunning Geneva, the second-largest city in Switzerland, with its fantastic lakeside location and breathtaking panoramas of the Alps.

Day 3Enchanting Engelberg

Our morning drive takes us from Swiss lakes to Swiss Army. At the once-secret Swiss army bunker at Fortress Fürigen, we’ll see part of the massive defense system designed to keep Switzerland strong and neutral. Afterward, a short drive into the countryside brings us to the charming Alpine village of Engelberg, our picturesque home for the next two days. We’ll settle into our lodge then head out for an orientation walk. Our stroll through the village will end at the Engelberg Abbey, a Benedictine monastery with its own cheese-making operation. You’ll have free time to wander back before dinner together. Sleep in Engelberg (2 nights). Bus: 1 hr. Walking: light.

Day 4Interlaken Area. Excursion to The Jungfrau Massif

An unforgettable trip to the high Alpine wonderland of ice and snow is the true highlight of a visit to Switzerland. Globus Local Favorite At an amazing 11,332 feet, the JUNGFRAUJOCH is Europe’s highest railway station. Jungfrau’s 13,642-foot summit was first ascended in 1811 and in 1912 the rack railway was opened. There are lots of things to do here: enjoy the ALPINE SENSATION, THE PANORAMA 360° EXPERIENCE, and the ICE PALACE. Also receive your JUNGFRAU PASSPORT as a souvenir to take home with you. The round trip to the “Top of Europe” by MOUNTAIN TRAIN will take most of the day.

Day 5Lake Geneva and Château de Chillon

It’s market day in Lausanne! Enjoy browsing and packing a picnic lunch for our 11 a.m. boat cruise on Lake Geneva. A few miles down-shore we’ll dock at Château de Chillon, where we’ll have a guided tour of this delightfully medieval castle on the water. On our way back we’ll take time to peek into the vineyards surrounding Lutry before returning to Lausanne. Boat: 2 hrs. Bus: 1 hr. Walking: moderate.
