Tour itinerary

On the First day of your trip, you will arrive in Ulaanbaatar city, the capital of Mongolia. We will pick you up from your arrival location whether it is the airport or train station.  you will be greeted by our staff, and depending on your arrival time, a city tour is available.

Early morning we will start driving to Dalanzadgad city which is located 510k  from Ulaanbaatar city. We will reach the destination around 3 PM and visit Yoliin am, also called Lammergeier Valley. After reaching the main entrance of Yoliin am, first, we will visit a small natural history museum at the entrance then will drive a little further to the valley. Once reaching the parking spot we will ride a horse through the canyons of Yoliin am. 

The Yoliin am, in other words, lammergeier valley is a beautiful and picturesque canyon located in Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park, East Beauty of the “Three Beauties” mountain.

Today we will drive to Khongor sand dunes or singing dunes. Khongor sand dunes are the biggest sand dunes in Mongolia, reaching a height of 300 meters. Climbing up to the Khongor sand dunes is an extreme exercise, but once you get to the top you can enjoy the whole scenery, and all hardships that you faced while climbing up to the top will be forgotten. 

Tips: It is better to climb barefooted, and keep your phone and camera in a safe bag to protect from the sand. Do not forget to bring some water. The best time to climb up to the sand dunes is sunrise or sunset. 

Plus, to make your Gobi desert experience even more unique, we will ride on a Mongolian camel through the area.

After breakfast, we will drive to Bayanzag, also known as Flaming Cliffs where the first nest of dinosaur eggs was ever discovered in 1922. You can enjoy walking around the same place as 60 million years ago dinosaurs were roaming around. There is a high chance that you can discover fossils if you look for them thoroughly. In the evening, photoshoot flaming cliffs and watch a documentary about this wonderful place.

Then we will continue to drive Ongi monastery ruins. Ongi monastery was the biggest Buddhist monastery in the Mongolian Gobi region but was sadly destroyed by the communists during religious purge repression in the 1930s. Through this dark time, all of the monasteries were destroyed and over 17,000 monks were killed or arrested and never seen again, with total victims can be counted of about 27,000 people. This dark history of violence at Ongiin monastery is still visible in bare eyes, even though it happened over 80 years ago.

To this day, the only working chapel was rebuilt in the 1990s. Also, at the entrance, You can visit the small ger museum that shows the history of the Ongi monastery.

After breakfast, we will drive to Kharkhorin city, the Ancient Mongolian capital. Visit the Erdenezuu monastery which was built on ruins of Kharkhorin city. Then we will visit Kharkhorin historical museum to learn more about the history of the Great Mongolian Empire and Kharkhorin city. 

In the evening we will visit a local nomad family, enjoy Mongolian BBQ for the dinner.

On the last day of the tour, we will start driving back to Ulaanbaatar city. A short visit to Khustai national park is also included. In Hustai national park, you can observe wild animals such as Przewalski horse, red deer, mammoth, wolf, foxes, and more. 

Upon arrival in Ulaanbaatar, we will do some shopping, and visit the Choijin Lama temple museum. Enjoy folklore concert. In the evening we will have a nice dinner in a hotpot restaurant.

1.Travelers are required to have proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 either, recovery or a negative COVID-19 test certification or any kind of valid documents. Children aged 6-17 must present. 

  • Proof of vaccination status (for children who are eligible); or
  • Proof of a negative COVID-19 test (PCR or lateral flow) conducted no more than 72 hours before your tour; or
  • Proof of recovery from COVID-19 (a medical clearance certificate from a medical professional) dated no more than 9 months before your tour.  

3. Upon your arrival in Ulaanbaatar, our driver will pick you up from the airport or train station and take you to your hotel. On this day depending on your arrival time city tour is available. And the last day of your tour our driver will take you to the airport, and a city tour is not included.

4. A single supplement is available if you want to use a room just for yourself. If you want a single supplement please make an inquiry with our booking manager. The single supplement is 70$ per night.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Zürich, Switzerland

We’ll meet at 4 p.m. at our hotel in Luzern (Lucerne) for a “Welcome to Switzerland” meeting. Then we’ll take a meandering evening walk through Switzerland’s most charming lakeside town, and get acquainted with one another over dinner together. Sleep in Luzern (2 nights). No bus. Walking: light.

Day 2Zürich–Biel/Bienne–Neuchâtel–Geneva

Enjoy an orientation walk of Zurich’s OLD TOWN, Switzerland’s center of banking and commerce. Then, leave Zurich and start your Swiss adventure. You’ll quickly discover that Switzerland isn’t just home to the Alps, but also to some of the most beautiful lakes. First, stop at the foot of the Jura Mountains in the picturesque town of Biel, known as Bienne by French-speaking Swiss, famous for watch-making, and explore the historical center. Next, enjoy a scenic drive to lakeside Neuchâtel, dominated by the medieval cathedral and castle. Time to stroll along the lake promenade before continuing to stunning Geneva, the second-largest city in Switzerland, with its fantastic lakeside location and breathtaking panoramas of the Alps.

Day 3Enchanting Engelberg

Our morning drive takes us from Swiss lakes to Swiss Army. At the once-secret Swiss army bunker at Fortress Fürigen, we’ll see part of the massive defense system designed to keep Switzerland strong and neutral. Afterward, a short drive into the countryside brings us to the charming Alpine village of Engelberg, our picturesque home for the next two days. We’ll settle into our lodge then head out for an orientation walk. Our stroll through the village will end at the Engelberg Abbey, a Benedictine monastery with its own cheese-making operation. You’ll have free time to wander back before dinner together. Sleep in Engelberg (2 nights). Bus: 1 hr. Walking: light.

Day 4Interlaken Area. Excursion to The Jungfrau Massif

An unforgettable trip to the high Alpine wonderland of ice and snow is the true highlight of a visit to Switzerland. Globus Local Favorite At an amazing 11,332 feet, the JUNGFRAUJOCH is Europe’s highest railway station. Jungfrau’s 13,642-foot summit was first ascended in 1811 and in 1912 the rack railway was opened. There are lots of things to do here: enjoy the ALPINE SENSATION, THE PANORAMA 360° EXPERIENCE, and the ICE PALACE. Also receive your JUNGFRAU PASSPORT as a souvenir to take home with you. The round trip to the “Top of Europe” by MOUNTAIN TRAIN will take most of the day.

Day 5Lake Geneva and Château de Chillon

It’s market day in Lausanne! Enjoy browsing and packing a picnic lunch for our 11 a.m. boat cruise on Lake Geneva. A few miles down-shore we’ll dock at Château de Chillon, where we’ll have a guided tour of this delightfully medieval castle on the water. On our way back we’ll take time to peek into the vineyards surrounding Lutry before returning to Lausanne. Boat: 2 hrs. Bus: 1 hr. Walking: moderate.
