Every year the first week of March specifically between the 2nd and 4th Mongolia celebrates “The Blue Pearl Ice Festival” on frozen Khuvsgul Lake. On this tour, we will explore not only the Ice Festival and frozen lake we will also discover the town called “Khankh” which is located in northern shore of Khuvsgul Lake and famous Sayan mountains.

Tour itinerary

Today early morning we will begin our adventure by start driving to Murun city. Will have lunch on the way at Erdenet city which is second largest city in Mongolia where you can see lots of soviet style buildings and apartments. Arrival at Murun city at night.

Spend overnight at hotel.  Meals included: L, D

After having breakfast at hotel will depart Khatgal village to participate grand opening of “The Blue Pear” Ice Festival. Upon arrival at Ice Festival venue blend yourself with festival atmosphere such as strolling round food stalls, buying handcrafts from locals, horse sledding or just simply wander around beautifully crafted ice sculptures. After spending half day at Ice festival we will drive to Khankh town which near the Russian border. 

Spend overnight at tourist camp along lake shore. Meals included: B, L, D

Khankh town is one of the most isolated places in Mongolia. During summer it is not easily accessible however winter it gives thrilling opportunity to everyone to explore this beautiful little town. Today we have lots activities such horse riding in this winter wonderland, ice skating on frozen lake, bonfire party while drinking a hot wine at shore of crystal clear frozen lake. Dont forget to gaze at majestic Sayan mountains.

Spend overnight in tourist camp. Meals included: B, L, D

Today we will drive back to Murun city after having lunch at the camp. Arrival at Murun city during dinner time. 

Spend overnight at hotel. Meals included: B, L, D

After having breakfast at hotel early morning we will depart to Ulaanbaatar. Arrival in Ulaanbaatar at night. End of the tour.

1. Upon your arrival in Ulaanbaatar, our driver will pick you up from the airport or train station and take you to your hotel. On this day depending on your arrival time city tour is available. And on the last day of your tour our driver will take you to the airport, and a city tour is not included.

2. A single supplement is available if you want to use a room just for yourself. If you want a single supplement please make an inquiry with our booking manager. The single supplement is 70$ per night.
