Tour itinerary

Upon your arrival at Chingis Khaan international airport, you will be greeted by your tour guide and driver. Make sure all your belongings are with you and they will escort you to your hotel.

Early morning your guide and driver will pick you up from the hotel and set off to the Gobi province called Umnugobi or Southgobi province. During lunchtime, you will have arrived in Dalanzadgad the capital of Umnugobi province. Today you will explore the Yoliin which is a deep narrow gorge near the Dalanzadgad where you will see ice fields even during the summer. The gobi is mysterious make sure you discover every hidden treasure in it.

Khongor sand dunes are one of the most remarkable attractions of the Gobi as well as in Mongolia. Your guide and driver will take you to the spot called singing dunes which is the highest peak of Khongor sand dunes. Gobi nights are known as their bright stars due to the emptiness of nature, enjoy the starry night you may spot the milky way on your own eyes.

After breakfast at the camp, you will set off to Bayanzag also known as the flaming cliffs. Bayanzag is famous for its fossilized dinosaur egg findings by American explorer Roy Chapman Andrews. You may even spot the real dinosaur fossils on your own. Make sure you visit Bayanzag during sunset to witness the mesmerizing colors of the cliffs.

Today you will drive to Kharkhorin which is the ancient capital city of Mongolia between the 13th to14th centuries. Make sure you are prepared for a long drive of about 470km. Khakhorin was the center of the world during the 13th century due to its non-discriminative policy. Every nationality and religion was accepted officially and co-existed in harmony. However, the major part of the glorious city had been destroyed but still, you will be able to witness the ancient remainings and historical sites.

Have long and good sleep as much as you want. After breakfast at camp, explore the Orkhon valley which is registered in Unesco in the category of the cultural landscape. There are several ancient historic monuments such as ruins of the Mongol Empires’ capital the Karakorum in the 13th century, Ordu-baliq or kharbalgas capital of the Uighur Empire in the 8th century, and the monument of Bilga-Khan from the Turkic Empire in the 6th century.

After breakfast set off to the blue pearl of Mongolia the Khuwsgul lake. You will notice the beauty of nature changes as you drive every mile. Enjoy the night next to blue pear lake.

After breakfast at the hotel, you will take a flight to Bayan-Ulgii province. Upon your arrival at Ulgii the capital of Bayan-Ulgii province you will drive to the Altai mountains. Explore the Altai mountains and Alexandre glacier. Spend overnight in a ger.

In the morning drive to Sagsai soum to experience the eagle hunting activities. Witnessing an eagle hunter on horseback with an eagle hunter would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Enjoy the night with Kazakh eagle hunters in their ger.

3. Upon your arrival in Ulaanbaatar, our driver will pick you up from the airport or train station and take you to your hotel. On this day depending on your arrival time city tour is available. And the last day of your tour our driver will take you to the airport, and a city tour is not included.

4. A single supplement is available if you want to use a room just for yourself. If you want a single supplement please make an inquiry with our booking manager. The single supplement is 70$ per night.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Zürich, Switzerland

We’ll meet at 4 p.m. at our hotel in Luzern (Lucerne) for a “Welcome to Switzerland” meeting. Then we’ll take a meandering evening walk through Switzerland’s most charming lakeside town, and get acquainted with one another over dinner together. Sleep in Luzern (2 nights). No bus. Walking: light.

Day 2Zürich–Biel/Bienne–Neuchâtel–Geneva

Enjoy an orientation walk of Zurich’s OLD TOWN, Switzerland’s center of banking and commerce. Then, leave Zurich and start your Swiss adventure. You’ll quickly discover that Switzerland isn’t just home to the Alps, but also to some of the most beautiful lakes. First, stop at the foot of the Jura Mountains in the picturesque town of Biel, known as Bienne by French-speaking Swiss, famous for watch-making, and explore the historical center. Next, enjoy a scenic drive to lakeside Neuchâtel, dominated by the medieval cathedral and castle. Time to stroll along the lake promenade before continuing to stunning Geneva, the second-largest city in Switzerland, with its fantastic lakeside location and breathtaking panoramas of the Alps.

Day 3Enchanting Engelberg

Our morning drive takes us from Swiss lakes to Swiss Army. At the once-secret Swiss army bunker at Fortress Fürigen, we’ll see part of the massive defense system designed to keep Switzerland strong and neutral. Afterward, a short drive into the countryside brings us to the charming Alpine village of Engelberg, our picturesque home for the next two days. We’ll settle into our lodge then head out for an orientation walk. Our stroll through the village will end at the Engelberg Abbey, a Benedictine monastery with its own cheese-making operation. You’ll have free time to wander back before dinner together. Sleep in Engelberg (2 nights). Bus: 1 hr. Walking: light.

Day 4Interlaken Area. Excursion to The Jungfrau Massif

An unforgettable trip to the high Alpine wonderland of ice and snow is the true highlight of a visit to Switzerland. Globus Local Favorite At an amazing 11,332 feet, the JUNGFRAUJOCH is Europe’s highest railway station. Jungfrau’s 13,642-foot summit was first ascended in 1811 and in 1912 the rack railway was opened. There are lots of things to do here: enjoy the ALPINE SENSATION, THE PANORAMA 360° EXPERIENCE, and the ICE PALACE. Also receive your JUNGFRAU PASSPORT as a souvenir to take home with you. The round trip to the “Top of Europe” by MOUNTAIN TRAIN will take most of the day.

Day 5Lake Geneva and Château de Chillon

It’s market day in Lausanne! Enjoy browsing and packing a picnic lunch for our 11 a.m. boat cruise on Lake Geneva. A few miles down-shore we’ll dock at Château de Chillon, where we’ll have a guided tour of this delightfully medieval castle on the water. On our way back we’ll take time to peek into the vineyards surrounding Lutry before returning to Lausanne. Boat: 2 hrs. Bus: 1 hr. Walking: moderate.
