Highlights

Tour itinerary

The first day of your tour will start as a city tour, visiting the central square, Gandan monastery, and Zaisanhill. After lunch, we will take a tour of the Chinggis khan statue located 70km from the city. Chinggis Khan horse statue is the biggest equestrian statue in the world with its 40 meters tall stainless steel body. Then we will drive to Terelj national park to visit the Ariyapala meditation temple and enjoy a stunning view.  Of course, we will visit the famous turtle rock.

Early morning we will drive to Hustai national park and see takhi, the Asian wild horse. Also, you can see wolves, gazelle, deer, and more wild animals in the Hustai national park. After lunch in Hustai national park, we will drive to elsen tasarkhai unique area of forest and sand dunes. You also can ride a two-humped camel through the dunes.

After breakfast, we will drive to the Kharkorum the ancient capital of the Great Mongolian empire. Once arriving in the Karkhorin city, firstly we will visit the Kharkhorin museum to see exhibitions from The Great Mongol state period, Stone age, Bronze age, even the Ancient state period. After lunch, we will visit Erdene-Zuu, the oldest Buddhist monastery in Mongolia, with 108 stupas, which were built in the 16th century. The Erdene Zuu monastery was built on ruins of ancient  Kharkhorin city, so you still can see some remains from the 13th century.

Drive to Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake, where you stay overnight. Settle at your ger and after lunch, drive to Horgo extinct volcano where you’ll see the marvelous mountain view and endangered species of vegetation & fauna. It’s encompassed by the Khangai Mountains, which reach up to 3000 meters over sea level. Over a comparatively little range here, there are a dozen or so extinct volcanoes. To see the astonishing view of the range you’ll be able to climb up the top of the crater.

The real fun begins today. After breakfast, drive to the Shine-Ider Soum in Khuvsgul province to visit a nomad family where you have an opportunity to experience the real nomadic culture and their lifestyle. Live like a Mongolian Nomad for a day! 

For the dinner, you’ll have an authentic Mongolian grill, prepared within the traditional style with hot stones. Plus, you’ll have a chance to learn to live like Mongolian nomads while helping them with their daily chores such as herding the animals, milking cows and goats, making dairy products, etc. In the evening we will play some of the Mongolian traditional games.

After bidding farewell to the family, we will continue our journey to Khuvsgul lake. Firstly we will visit Murun town, the capital of Khuvsgul province and take short a city tour to a local market & a museum. After lunch drive to Huvsgul Lake, the deepest and purest lake in Mongolia.

After breakfast, we will take a boat trip through the Khuvsgul lake and it is a great chance to explore the beauty of the lake.  Then we will visit the Tsaatan family (Reindeer herder Dukha people) which is the highlight of the Khuvsgul trip. Learn about their daily life and take a picture of the reindeer’s or even can try riding them. After lunch, we will drive back to the tourist camp. Optional activities like kayaking, biking, and more are possible.

Today we will drive to Urantogoo excited volcanic crater. Urantogoo volcanic mountain is located in Bulgan province and it is one of the most beautiful volcanic mountains of Mongolia. The Urantogoo volcano is located 1685 meters above sea level and the crater of the volcano is 500 to 600m wide and deep will go around 50 meters. On the bottom of the crater, there is a small lake that has a diameter of around 20 meters. The Urantogoo volcanic mountain area is state-protected since 1965 and you will be able to enjoy the unspoiled beauty of northern Mongolia.

After breakfast drive to the Amarbayasgalant monastery. Amarbayasgalant Monastery complex is located in Selenge province, roughly around 500km from Ulaanbaatar city. The Monastery was built during 1727-1736, for the honor of Saint Zanabazar, the first Bogd the Mongolian Buddhist leader and artist, founder of the Mongol School of religious art. 

The Amarbaysgalant monastery was once the biggest in Mongolia with over 40 chapels, and temples surrounded by long walls. However, after the religious purge in 1938, only 28 temples have remained and stayed under State protection since 1944.

After breakfast, we will drive back to Ulaanbaatar and city sightseeing tour including shopping centers for souvenirs and cashmere. In the evening, you will enjoy a live performance of Mongolian National folklore and will have a nice dinner.

1.Travelers are required to have proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 either, recovery or a negative COVID-19 test certification or any kind of valid documents. Children aged 6-17 must present. 

  • Proof of vaccination status (for children who are eligible); or
  • Proof of a negative COVID-19 test (PCR or lateral flow) conducted no more than 72 hours before your tour; or
  • Proof of recovery from COVID-19 (a medical clearance certificate from a medical professional) dated no more than 9 months before your tour.  

3. Upon your arrival in Ulaanbaatar, our driver will pick you up from the airport or train station and take you to your hotel. On this day depending on your arrival time city tour is available. And the last day of your tour our driver will take you to the airport, and a city tour is not included.

4. A single supplement is available if you want to use a room just for yourself. If you want a single supplement please make an inquiry with our booking manager. The single supplement is 70$ per night.
