Mongolia is one of the highly-vaccinated countries in the world. As of January 27th of 2022, 66% of the overall population is fully vaccinated (two-dose), and by the current pace of vaccination by the summer of 2022, 90% of the Mongolian population would be vaccinated by two doses.

Mongolian border has opened from May 1st of 2021 for international travelers. Below are must-do procedures before your arrival in Mongolia:

  1. To take PCR test 72 hours before your flight to Mongolia
  2. To register charter flight to Mongolia which is scheduled by the Mongolian government
  3. Proof of two-dose vaccination
  4. If you were infected by COVID-19 and healed within 4 months before your arrival in Mongolia you would not be quarantined in Mongolia, on the other hand, if it has passed more than 4 months there will be 7 days compulsory quarantine.

Once you are landed in Mongolia:

  1. Make sure you wear a mask on at public places
  2. When you cough cover your mouth by handkerchief or your hand
  3. Make sure your hand is sanitized well 
  4. Keep your passport and vaccination documents with you

Before your departure from Mongolia:

  1. To take the PCR test 72 hours before your flight. Only a few hospitals in Ulaanbaatar are authorized for PCR tests which are approved for international flights such as Intermed hospital and the National Center for Communicable Diseases. 
  2. Proof of two-dose vaccination
